Conserving resources

We had been covering Myanmar on almost a daily basis on our focus page, for past 2 weeks.

However, despite the best effort to simplify the backend process as much as possible – it still takes a good 2 hours or more just to update the incident map on a daily basis. As such, it wont be tenable – especially Myanmar – while we believe is important to cover as most media aren’t cover – the attention and readership is currently way too low to justify.

We will instead change the update of the incident map to a weekly basis – so that we can move resources and time to spend on expanding our followers numbers on both social media (instagram, twitter, facebook page) and on Youtube.

I am thinking about focusing on posting more of the vital quotes so that we can increase followers, for examples:

And we will also want to increase our posting on Youtube. I’m still thinking what is the best format of video content that the audience will find useful and insightful – that would drive them to subscribe and support DPA.

Meanwhile, we will start to write in-depth original articles, which will be posted exclusively on our Patreon. It MIGHT be delayed posted on our website after 2 weeks (not always) – which will discuss our views and analysis of situations on the ground and what do we predict will be happening moving forward in those various flashpoints.

This is our current editorial plan, and we will update accordingly when we have news.
