Russia to escalate Ukraine military operations??? Valery Gerasimov take over command from Surovikin
Russia Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu announce change of leadership in the Russian Special Military Operation in Ukraine, replacing Surovikin with his direct superior, Valery Gerasimov – with Surovikin becoming one of the 3 deputies under him.
This may be a signal that Russia is likely to escalate the military operation with the appointment of an even higher ranked officer to take charge of the overall operations (maybe even a declaration of war on Ukraine?)
On top this signal, Russian heavy equipments are spotted in Belarus spotting the Z marking; and a huge portion of the Russian fleet at Novorossyisk, including a landing ship and an amphibious ship left port and entered the Black Sea.
Something seemed to be brewing… perhaps the long anticipated Super Duper Uber Russian Winter Offensive….
Full Report:
Valery Gerasimov is the deputy Defense Minister.
He is also literally the highest ranking MILITARY guy in Russia. Shoigu, his only superior, is not a military guy.
For this new command structure, there is no higher ranked people than these guys… so this is the apex command.
This would be the exact same command structure in the event where Russia declares and go to war w any country.
This is why, this change is huge. Its not really a “Special Military Operation” when the commanders of an operation is literally your highest possible ranking generals
Surovikin isnt “demoted”, in all likelihood, I expect him to continue doing almost everything he is already doing now – commanding the entire military operation on the Eastern Front (Kharkiv-Luhansk-Bakhmut-NiuYork-Donetsk Fronts)
So now, guess what is the other 2 generals supposed to do? One is the commander of all Russian ground force (in peace time). The other one is the deputy chief of staff (deputy to Geraismov).
Hint: New fronts.
2 new Generals, 2 new fronts. This is what I am expecting.
The other 2 generals:
Oleg Salyukov (dark green uniform) and Alexei Kim (bluish green uniform)
I think Oleg Salyukov, as the commander of all ground forces, would take the harder job of northern front.
Alexei Kim would take the southern front.
But still, many people still seemed confused.
Another way to think of this:
So if Russia decides to expand the operations by 300%.
Don’t you think its appropriate to find 2 more guys at the same level of Surovikin, and then get someone higher ranking than all of them to be their boss so that everyone’s operations links together?
Be flexible people.
There can still only be one overall commander for the SMO, so obviously in such a circumstances, Surovikin had to “step down” from the role to be taken over by his boss.
Is it a demotion for Surovikin when Gerasimov is the guy that is always sitting next to Putin along with Shiogu?
Gerasimov take over the command of SMO, is it really a simple change the commander of the operations? For someone who is always sitting next to Putin?
Ponder this.
