Ukraine Fighter Jets vs Drones/Missiles backfiring! – Planes getting shot down by SAMS over Poltava

Breaking news from the Poltava: Russia Ministry of Defense reported a shooting down of Ukrainian Su-27 over Poltava region by air defense system is raising concerns of the usage of fighter jets to defend against cruise missiles and suicide drones.

This comes after report from Ukrainian Air Force that one of their MiG-29 crashed in the night of 12 October after combat operations to destroy Russian Shahid-136 over Vinnytsia region and was reportedly tasked to shoot down cruise missiles the day before.

On top of this 2 losses, there are videos circulating in the social media of 2 separate crash wreckage of Ukrainian Su-24MR in the Poltava region with the regional head informing that the crash happened on 11 and 12 of October.

Having Ukrainian fighter jets falling out of the skies deep within Ukrainian territory is concerning and putting into question on the strategy of using high value fighter jets against cruise missiles and cheap Iranian-made drones.
