Ukraine Frontline Changes Report – Day 724, 17 Feb 2024
A Russian forces assault is geolocated on a treeline south of Robotyne. This location is previously understood to be under Ukrainian control.
This confirms the reports that an offensive operation is under way against Robotyne.
Current rumors include Russian forces reaching the western outskirt of Robotyne. But this is not yet corroborated by any of DPA’s primary sources via mapping or by any geolocations yet.
This development comes under the shadows of murmurs about a possible major Russian Offensive along the entire Zaporizhzhia Front from Kamyanske to Hulyaipole.
We will monitor the situation if this rumor can be corroborated.
Major frontline changes at Avdiivka Front after Ukrainian mass withdrawal from the entire city, and surprisingly, including the Avdiivka Coke Plant.
Given the speed of the closing of the encirclement within Avdiivka City, portions of Ukrainian forces on the eastern frontlines are likely to be stranded within enemy territory – and is likely to surrender (as its probably impossible to fight their way out)
Frontline north of Optyne continues to move northward, while the lines west of the city now aligns along the final treeline to Lastochkyne.
To the north, Avdiivka Coke Plant is entirely under Russian control.
All these massive changes drastically alters the strategic situation at the Avdiivka Front, and we would likely see more frontline changes over the next 24-48 hours as Ukrainian forces reestablish a new line of defence, away from the prying heights of the Avdiivka Coke Plant and the Khimik high-rise buildings.
