China seeks united front with like minded partners to fight USA in the Trade War
China reach out to other countries/blocs in attempt to form a united front against USA. These includes, Australia, European Union, ASEAN and India.
However Australia and India is quick to turn down China’s call for cooperation.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese rebuffed China’s offer for a joint resistance as “the only way” to stop the “hegemonic and bullying behaviour of the US”, after the Chinese ambassador to Australia appealed for Canberra’s cooperation in an opinion piece on 10 April 2025.
However, Alabanese declared, “It’s about pursuing Australia’s national interests, not about making common calls with China”. He continues to say that Australians would “speak for ourselves”, while the country’s defence minister said the nation would not be “holding China’s hand”.
China’s talk with ASEAN and European Union went better, but neither had indicated they gonna take China’s side against USA.
Malaysia, the current chair of ASEAN, is looking to consult with fellow ASEAN members on collective response to US “reciprocal tariffs”, however, had similarly released a statement “to not impose any retaliatory measures” against USA, and were ready to engage in talks.
This leaves China all alone in the fight against USA in the Trade War, as tariff on China is now 125%, while everyone else in the world, now received a reprieve of only 10% tariff.
Scott Bessent, US Treasury Secretary, while speaking with investors at the American Bankers Association revealed that the US plan is to reach a deal with everyone, and then approach China as a group.
