Frontline Changes Report – Day 967-968 (17-18 October 2024)
Russian forces tried a blitz attack towards Viktorovka, which AGAIN, a armored carrier bumped into a Ukrainian tank which killed it at point blank range.
But the attack points to the high possibility that the Russian forces had captured the area north of Novoivanovka.
The attack towards Viktorovka, coupled with the attack on Malaya Loknya – could point to a possible massive pincer attempt on the NW sector of the Kursk Front.
Russian forces is geolocated to confirm Russian claim of full capture of Liubimovka.
Western flank, Kursk Front
–
Russian forces recaptured Russkaya Konopelka, confirmed by geolocation, as they continue their counterattack towards Sudzha along the railway line.
Russkaya Konopelka, Kursk Front
–
Russian forces advanced deeper into Kruhlyakivka, moving towards the Senkove-Kruhlyakivka crossing.
Ukraine losing the communication route through Kruhlyakivka would hugely increase their logistics and complicate movement of troops between Kupyansk and the Svatove Front
Kruhlyakivka, Pishchane Front
–
Geolocation of Russian forces west of Leonidivka / north of Nelipivka clear up the frontline a bit in the heavily foggy Niu-York Front.
DPA’s assessment is that the attack came from Leonidivka direction.
Ukrainian forces likely to continue to hold a presence in Nelipivka – but now under severe threat of encirclement as the salient at Nelipivka is a bit too deep.
Leonidivka, Niu-York Front
–
Russian forces expands control southward from Maksymilyanivka to the highway after Russian claim of capture of the settlement.
