Personally, I think what is missing in today’s age – which I learnt it the hard way when I entered adulthood – was the concept of taking responsibility for what you say and do; and that your feelings dont matter at all
In reality, no one cares how you feel, and you have to learn to suck up all the negative emotions and continue to move forward in life. There was a reason why Chicken Soup for the Soul was a best seller 20 years ago.
The entire woke culture is basically based on the foundation of “feeling matters more than substance”, “anyone that give me negative feelings are evil” and “I dont need to take responsibility for my own life as long as I care about other people’s feelings”
In that sense, people getting a taste of the boomerang effect of their words and actions – is how we used to learn responsibility.
Its through failure that we learn.
If people dont fail and punished for their mistakes – they will never learn. (the same problem with cashless bails and crimes are ignored/not punished because [ insert stupid reasons ]
So I agree with both Miss Chens.
The American Right Wing had always resisted cancel culture in general.
And even when they do (eventually), they went for big corporations like Bud Light for crossing the line.
But the assassination of Charlie Kirk led to the Right to “declare war” and had in unison, all said the same thing, “you have no idea what you have unleashed”.
The endless list of sacking and termination over the fall out from the assassination is just the beginning.
The Left had played this cancel culture game for so long and so extensively, even me, a Singaporean half way around the globe (literally 12 hours different from the east coast) had affected me – gotten censored or shadowbanned countless times by the various Big Tech, for simply having an opinion that dont match those of MSM or what the Big Tech wants to push..
Two can play this game, and the American Right from now on is gonna be merciless at bring down their cultural-ideological opponents if they trip at any point.
And with MAGA running the govt, it would be like a form of cultural revolution in the USA, if its not already started since Trump returned to the white house.
